"EF has impacted every aspect of my life!"
After checking out EF I knew it was the gym for me. EF made me excited to get moving again! It is safe to say that EF has impacted every aspect of my life. Aside from the physical progress and 55lb weight loss, I have also made many positive changes mentally as well. My mindset has shifted to a more positive outlook. I now strive to be the best me I can be in both my personal and professional roles. I am also able to face challenges head-on and know that I can control how I feel and respond to situations which can decrease stress.
It is truly awesome how much I can do. I am surprised how much I enjoy learning about and talking about fitness. Also can’t forget shopping for all things fitness!
You hear that fitness boosts confidence etc etc. However, until I experienced it, I had no idea what that truly meant. I am truly proud of the confidence that I have uncovered. This confidence has led me to be the best wife, friend, nurse, and person I can be. Definitely not perfect, but certainly better every day.
I’ve never felt intimidated by others at Evolution, unlike other gyms I have gone. 24/7 gym access has been a critical part to my success. Its convenient to be able to get to the gym around my schedule even when I can’t make class times.
What did you achieve in your first year?
In my first year, I learned a routine! This was HUGE in my success. I had to plan out far in advance when I could make it to the gym. This also included preparing what I was going to eat beforehand, having clothes ready, decent sleep, setting an alarm and making sure I showed up. MANY MANY MANY times I dreaded the idea of waking up to go the 9am class. But I forced myself to go and created a habit.
What are you most proud of accomplishing your first year?
I am most proud of Sam (husband) and I becoming healthier thanks to finding a gym we both love. We both lost weight, his heart health and diabetes improved and I am certain I would not have recovered this well after all my foot surgeries if it weren’t for the gym. I remember my first actual lunge after working on it for months! It was so awesome!!!
What would you say to someone thinking about getting started?
Now is the perfect time to start. If you want to make a change, you have to make it a priority. Otherwise, it ain’t gonna happen.
